Past Celebrity Players

I'm delighted to be on board with the Cignet team and organiser Ben
Hortop for the 2013 Heroes Celebrity Golf day. I played last year for
the first time and all I can say is that the weather had better play
ball this year! Stoke Park almost drowned last April, and yet so many
people made it such a fabulous day I couldn't resist the opportunity to
get involved this time around.
Help for Heroes is a charity that by right shouldn't actually be
needed. Our troops go into hostile combat zones in OUR name - and yet
we don't have the right infrastructure to provide THEM with enough care,
or practical help and support when they are either struck ill or suffer
life changing injuries. That is what Help for Heroes does, and it's no
wonder it's such a huge and really well supported charity. I strongly
feel we as a nation have a duty to our brave men and women servicemen
who pledged to defend our interests when they entered the forces.
Working on the Paralympics for Channel 4 was an incredible
experience. I met more inspirational people then most people do in a
lifetime. In a few cases it was the ex-military personnel that really
stood out to me. Many of them overcame huge obstacles to take part in
the Paralympic Games and I continue to be amazed by their resilience and
determination. I hope that when Rio comes around in 2016 - a higher
proportion of the Paralympics GB team are there through Battle Back and
Help for Heroes. The work they do is incredible.
I hope that you will join us on 24th April 2013. I think it's going
to be the best one yet. I am also going to have a word about the
weather. I promise...

Last year's Heroes Celebrity Golf Day was a triumph even though I was wet through to my actual pants despite wearing 4 layers.
The Noahesque conditions still couldn't detract from a special day for a wonderful charity

I loved last year's H4H golf day. It was the best round of golf I've ever had (in force 1000 gales in sheet rain with greens 3 inches deep in torrents of water). What was great was that despite the inclement conditions, the day + dinner was brilliantly supported and great fun. This year, the weather will be better. And so will the day. If you're lucky you get to play with someone really famous. If not, I'll wander round the course with you.

It's an honour to support our troops and the H4H Golf day is a 'must' in the calendar. The turnout of celebs is always second to none, making it a great day. This year I'm going to win it!

Despite the pouring rain, the weather didn't dampen our spirits at the Help for Heroes golf day!
Another great day, so well organised and what makes it all worthwhile is the money and awareness raised for such a fantastic cause!!
Keep showing your support for Help for Heroes!

I'm really looking forward to playing in the Help for Heroes Golf day. Great Location and great cause.
The men and women in the Armed Forces do an incredible job and don't ask for anything in return.
But sometimes they need our help and that's what this charity is all about.

Looking forward to another Help for Heroes Golf day, one of the best golfing events on the calendar. Such a brilliant cause and what a setting to have it in.

Last year's golf day was perfect for me, as the wind and rain and near 'Waterworld' conditions gave me my ready-made excuse for my indifferent golf game. I'm hoping for more of the same this year.....just kidding. My kit is still drying out!! See you there.

This is my first year playing in the Help for Heroes National Golf Day but I've heard so much about the day and the amazing work the charity does that I wish I'd been involved sooner. It is such an important cause and it is a privilege to be able to honour our service men and women in some small way by taking part.

I can't wait to play again for such a brilliant cause. Although to be honest, the conditions were better suited to synchronised swimming rather than golf. Maybe I'll wear a swimming cap this year!! Come and join us - it's a great great day. X
